This is a slow and fast flash RGB LED, just apply power and it provides a light show with no external components except for a current limiting resistor. Have a look at the video below for an example of the flash pattern, please note that the camera has a hard time showing the distinct red green and blue that is being shown since it is so bright. You can either shine the LED directly on something or you can make a nice effect by difusing the LED using simple wax paper.
The video shows the Flashing RGB LED mounted to a LED mounting board and powered using a 9 volt battery snap. If you need some heat shrink to cover the LED mounting board the 6mm heat shrink size is ideal.

We are currently shipping these LEDs with a free resistors that will operate from 9 volts to 12 volts.
If you only require a one or two LEDs we are probably not the best place to get them since you will need to pay a few dollars for shipping. Stores such as Radio Shack also carry a selection of LEDs. They are much more expensive but this might be the way to go if you only need a few. Here is a link to a White and Blue LED from Radio Shack. Keep in mind that the mcd number relates to how bright the LED is, the higher the number the brighter. We only carry LEDs that are very bright.
